Gail R. (Henriques) Mellon, 63 of Limerick, died Monday, July 19, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown with her loving family at her side. Wife of James "Spike" Mellon
Born in West Conshohocken on September 6, 1946, daughter of Bernice (Dickson) Henriques and the late Harold Henriques.
Gail has lived in Limerick for the past 25 years, formerly of Betzwood and West Conshohocken where she was born and raised. She was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church in Royersford and a former member of St. Teresa Avila of Betzwood and Gertrude RC Church of West Conshohocken. She graduated from Upper Merion High School, class of 1964. She worked as an Administrative Assistant with Vanguard where she worked for 23 years. Gail enjoyed traveling especially going to the Bahamas, going to the casinos, cook outs, dancing and having fun and enjoying life.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her children: Deborah (Robert) Nash of Collegeville, Stephen (Ann) Mellon of Boyertown, and Kathleen (Kyle) Rigg of Douglassville; sister: Sharon Elliott of Tishomingo, OK; 5 grandchildren: Anthony, Patrick, daniel, Megan and Lauren.
Her Memorial Mass will be held Friday, July 23 at 10 a.m. from St. Gertrude RC Church, Bullock and Merion Ave., West Conshohocken with Msgr Gerard Measure officiating.
Friends may call Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private.
