Gregory J. Vincenzi, 40, of Norristown passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown.
He was born in Torino, Italy on Feb. 15, 1970 and formerly of Venezuela, he has lived in Norristown for the last 30 years.
He was a member of St. Titus RC Church of East Norriton.
He was a master chef and entrepeneur.
On Monday, July 26, we lost a good friend and great family man and Heaven gained an angel.
Greg was not only a dedicated family man, but also a good friend who would give you the shirt off his back if asked.
He paid the highest honor to his mother by naming his restaurants after her, “Mama Lucia’s” formerly of Malvern, Norristown and Bridgeport.
One of Greg’s greatest passions was cooking authentic Italian cuisines. He took great pride in his restaurants and treated all of his customers like family. He would walk around making sure everyone felt at home.
When friends were in need of a job, Greg always found a place for them at the restaurant, often sacrificing his own wages so that those in need were taken care of.
Greg will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Greg is survived by his mother Lucia (DeNigris) Vencenzi of Norristown; two daughters: Lucia and Francesca Vincenzi, both of Norristown; a brother Joseph (and Margaret) Vincenzi of Norristown; a sister Chiara “Clara” (and James) WIcks of West Norriton; nieces and nephews: Chad, Karina, Christopher, Chandler, Zahia and Solaimane.
He was predeceased by his father Marino Vincenzi.
His memorial service will held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the St. Titus RC Church, 3006 Keenwood Rd., East Norriton. Fr. Thomas Kletzel will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Vincenzi Children Fund to benefit his daughters, c/o Clara Wicks at 2521 Cedar Grove Lane, Norristown, PA 19403.
