Dorothy W. Bauers, nee Eleanor Dorothy Wolfe, 88 of Foulkeways at Gwynedd, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Foulkeways at Gwynedd. Wife of 65 years to the Rev. Robert M. Bauers of Philadelphia.
Born in Philadelphia on Dec. 8, 1921, daughter of the late James H. and Eleanor (Knoblauch) Wolfe Jr.
She was a graduate of Bucknell University and the New York School of Social Work. Dorothy lived for many years in Brooklyn, N.Y. where she worked as a social worker for the New York State Department of Mental Health.
A longtime summer resident of Paradise Falls in Cresco, she lived there full time for several years after her retirement.
She subsequently moved to Foulkeways at Gwynedd, where she was living at the time of her death.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: Christina M. Bauers of Philadelphia, John C., his wife, Alena N. Bauers of Buffalo, N.Y., Miriam E. Bauers and G. Kurt Zeisler of Wayne; a grandson, Jason Bauers.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, July 24, at 11 a.m. from St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25 E. Church St., Sellersville with the Rev. Royal L. and the Rev. Grace C. Olson officiating.
Friends may call Saturday, July 24 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Sellersville Cemetery, Sellersville.
