William Herbert Smith of Plymouth Meeting, a dedicated husband and father, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Montgomery Hospital.
He was 80 years old.
Born February 16, 1930, he was the son of the late William Ernest Smith and Sarah (Hankins) Smith.
He is survived by his beloved, caring wife of 59 years, Jean (Clark) Smith; brother David and sister Elizabeth (Brown); six children; Valerie (Rodeheaver), Carol (Wiegand), Nancy (Bryant), William, Steven, Christopher; and eight grandchildren.
Bill was raised in Conshohocken and graduated from Conshohocken High School in 1948.
Following service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he was employed for many years as a powerhouse engineer at Alan Wood Steel and later worked for Fetterolf Corporation.
He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 2007 New Hope St., East Norriton. The viewing will precede Mass from 9– 9:50 a.m.
