Dossie Lee "Coop" Cooper, 66, of Conshohocken, former Conshohocken police officer, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Towne Manor East of Norristown. Husband of 44 years to Beatrice (Price) Cooper.
Born in Norristown on Feb. 7, 1944, son of the late Willie Lee (Mims) and Willie Guy Cooper.
He lived in Conshohocken since 1965, formerly of Early, Ariz.
Mr. Cooper was a member of St. Paul's Baptist Church. He worked with Miquon Paper Company, Lee Tire, Jim Bowe Auto and Truck Sales, Conshohocken Police Dept. and he also was the former owner of 308 Bar of Conshohocken.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter Edna Fay Price Washington of Conshohocken; brother Willie Guy Cooper of Earle, Ariz.; three grandchildren: Retra Washington Price of Norristown, Tommie Washington Jr. of Conshohocken and Dossie Washington of Conshohocken; three great-grandchildren: Dallas Washington Bowe, Devon Price and Dinah Price, all of Norristown. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Willie Mack Crawford and David Dozier.
His service will be held Thursday, July 1 at 10 a.m. from St. Paul's Baptist Church, East 3rd Ave. and Hallowell St., Conshohocken with Rev. Walter Johnson officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Paul's Baptist Church, East 3rd Ave and Hallowell St., Conshohocken.
