Ralph M. Smoyer Jr. of Plymouth Meeting, age 84, pass away on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at his home in Plymouth Meeting.
Mr. Smoyer was a retired Industrial Engineer at Honeywell of Ft. Washington.
He was born in Allentown on Jan. 7, 1926 to the late Ralph M. Smoyer Sr. and Leone (Williams). He is the beloved husband of Caroline (Haltmair) Smoyer.
Ralph has been living in Plymouth Meeting since 1959, formerly of Chestnut Hill and Allentown, where he was born and raised.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of East Norriton. He was a very witty man and a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Mr. Smoyer enjoyed traveling, wokring in the garden, playing bridge and watching the stock market.
Ralph was an Army veteran of World War II; he served with the 69th Infantry.
Besides his wife, Ralph is survived by two daughers Karen S. (David) Pontell of West Windsor, N.J. and Sharone R. (William) ROth of Audubon; and a brother Edwin Smoyer of Allentown.
He is also survived by four grandchildren William Roth III, Kelly P. Roth, Brittany L. Roth and Brian D. Pontell.
My. Smoyer was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Hammond.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday evening, March 10 at 8 from the Moore & Snear Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton. Clergy will be with The Rev. J. Donald Rae officiating.
Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will be on Thursday, March 11 at 11 a.m. in Grandview Cemetery, 2735 Walbert Ave. Allentown.
