John F. Cooper III, of Plymouth Meeting, died Friday, February 19, 2010, at Kindred Hospital of Havertown.
He was 60.
Mr. Cooper was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa., on February 14, 1950.
He lived in Plymouth Meeting for more than 29 years.
He formerly resided in King of Prussia and Ardmore.
Mr. Cooper attended Church of the Messiah Episcopal Church in Gwynedd, Pa.
He received his graduate and master's degrees from the University of Villanova.
Mr. Cooper worked as an accountant with CertainTeed of Valley Forge, but he spent most of his time as a stay-at-home dad for his daughter, Melissa.
He enjoyed playing golf and watching sports including the Philadelphia Eagles, the Phillies, and Villanova basketball and football.
He especially loved March Madness.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife, Patricia (Scully) Cooper, of Plymouth Meeting; his daughter, Melissa (and Todd) Yates, of Timonium, Md.; and his brother, Allen Cooper, of Wayne, Pa.
He was predeceased by his parents, Helen (Barlett) and John F. Cooper Jr.
Mr. Cooper's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. from the Moore & Snear Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton.
Friends may call on Monday, February 22, 2010 from 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, February 23, 2010, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Moore & Snear Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton.
Interment will be in Valley Forge Gardens, King of Prussia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Cooper's memory to the American Heart Association, 625 West Ridge Pike, A100, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
