MaryAnn Cavanaugh of Conshohocken, age 76, died peacefully at home on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late William J. Bartz.

MaryAnn was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She was born in Conshohocken on March 16, 1931, a daughter of the late Anna Ruth (Burnheter) and Edward J. Cavanaugh. MaryAnn lived in Conshohocken most of her life except when she was first married she lived in Buffalo, N.Y.

She was a member of St. Matthew's RC Church in Conshohocken. She worked with Bentley Harris Mfg until she retired in 1996.

She was a very loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy in life were her children and grandchildren.

She was an avid reader and baseball fan especially the Phillies. She also loved watching ice skating, doing jigsaw puzzles, crocheting and researching ancestors.

She had a huge love for many kinds of music but her favorite was Irish music. MaryAnn was a lifelong animal lover, especially dogs.

She was preceded in death by her beloved Irish Setters, Lizzie, Rosie and Danny; many other dogs, cats and birds over the years.

MaryAnn is survived by her daughters, Rosanna Bartz of Honey Brook, Audrey (Robert 'Chip') Shank of Sanatoga, MaryAnn McMarcus of Conshohocken and Anita (Robert) Epps of Roxboro, N.C.; stepdaughter, Rose (Horace 'Woody') Woodside of Jim Thorpe; a brother, Edward 'Ned' Cavanaugh of Montgomeryville; grandchildren, Kira Hendricks, Julia Corbin, Heather Shank and Brendan Epps; two step grandchildren, Shawn and Jaime Woodside.

She is also survived by a dear family friend Martine Haynes who visited everyday during her illness with her dogs which brought her much joy.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Ruth Horrocks and Rita Eleanor Cavanaugh.

Her funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Matthew's RC Church, Third and Fayette St., Conshohocken with Fr. James W. Donlon officiating.

Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Moore & Snear Funeral Home, 300 Fayette St., Conshohocken. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Conshohocken.
